Trusting God’s Timing Is Now

For those of you new followers who might not know the back story, I’m going to summarize the best I can to get you up to speed with what God has laid on our hearts and how I feel His timing has come! I pray you follow along and share with others so that we can continue to shine His light and blessings on those God sends our way.

It all started back in 1980, well it really started in 1975 when Mom had a nervous breakdown. The miracle though, and our mission, started in 1980 when she was miracously healed by God after 5 years of suffering. Ever since then, she knew she had to tell her story and share her experience. I got on board pretty quickly, but life got in our way and we fought God’s timing. Well, in May 2015, we published our first book, Signs from God, and in that book we shared Mom’s testimony along with many other stories about Signs from God. Then in 2016, I created this website and we’ve been sharing ever since. Yes, we’ve had some quiet times as well while life continues to lead us in different directions. God keeps pushing us back though, and as we get older and life slowly starts slipping away, we know this is still God’s plan and we both feel Him pushing us.

In the last month, my Facebook Group, Signs from God, has so many new followers that it is obvious God is leading these believers to us. In the past new followers would trickle in every once in a while, but lately it is like God opened up the flood gates and hundreds are joining! I feel like I did back in 2015 when He put all the right people in front of me to help me publish our first book. Now He is sending me all of you to help us spread the word and motivate us to do so much more.

He has also led me to my new Church, Quest, in Grovetown, GA where I’ve been a member for just about a year now. I met with two Pastors and the Director of our Women’s Group this month about starting my own Small Group. Yep, you got it, Signs from God! The plan is to meet for eight weeks and go through our book and discuss all the many ways God speaks with us. It’s been a dream for Mom and I to be up on stage sharing her testimony and our story and I really feel like the time is now and God is helping us spread the word and bless His chosen people!

An example of God’s love for His children happenned this weekend when a new member in my Facebook Group shared that he had HIV and is struggling emotionally. My Spouse saw it and posted some inspiring words of wisdom for him that actually prompted him to ask if he ever did online sessions. WOW! You see in our darkest hours, God is working even when we don’t see it! God is putting people in our lives for a reason that is impacting us beyond our wildest dreams. We just need to give Him our burdens and believe that He is working it all out for our good.

If you need help doing this, I highly recommend an app called the “One Minute Pause”. It’s a 30 Days to Rilsilient program that provides 30 days of two 10-minute self-guided devotional meditations for you to spend time alone with God giving your burdens to Him! It is life-changing!

The time to make a change is now! Follow along as we continue our journey blessing others by sharing our stories and God’s love. Please check out the rest of our website windbeneathourwings.net and our Facebook Group, Signs from God and share with your friends.

Coming Out The Other Side

Life isn’t always easy. God’s Will is not clear to us all the time, and it’s hard to see through those dark clouds that drift in and out of our lives. Yet, when we believe with our hearts that the sun will shine again and that God has a plan, it’s easier to see through the rain and fog. Like a blizzard, our problems can mount up when the wind blows, but when the sun comes out all of our problems melt away. You just have to believe that the sun will come out again; and when it does, things will be brighter than you ever imagined – just like the sun shining on a fresh snow fall.

All we have to do is listen in the silence to God’s soft voice. Keep our minds and hearts open to how He speaks to us. He speaks to each of us how we need to hear Him, and for each of us it can be different. Follow His lead as His Plan is the best for us. Should you make the wrong turn, He will find another way to get you back on the right path so that you do follow His Will for you.

Some people are strong-willed, and while they know in their heart that what they want is not God’s Will, they follow their own path and find themselves stuck or delayed in receiving all the blessings that God has stored up just waiting for them! Don’t be that person. Be the person God created you to be!

“Anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand” ~ Matthew 7:26

Stay On The Tracks

There are times in our life when the path ahead is a blur. The fog sets in and we are blinded by confusion, frustration, and pain that hurts so deep we can not understand trackswhere we are supposed to turn. I’ve felt this first hand, and I’m sure you have too. Sometimes God has to take us to our knees and break us before we remember that only He knows the way. It’s during our darkest hour where we turn to God and talk to Him, begging for His help because we know we can’t move forward without Him. What we need to remember during our conversations with God, is to take the time to listen to what He has to say to us.

It’s not a one way conversation. You might think it is all about you, but God knows the big picture and loves each and every one of us and wants the best for all of us. He loves us unconditionally, but He wants us to turn to Him, talk with Him, take the extra time to hear His soft voice directing your path. He wants us to ask Him for what we want and to believe it is on its way – if it is His Will! “If it is His Will” is the key point to remember here and where it gets really tough.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”    ~ Jeremiah 29:11-13

What we want, is not always His Will! Like I said, only He knows the big picture and how our desire will effect everyone and everything. So, when our desire is not His Will, we need to understand there is a reason and even though we may be temporarily suffering, we are also becoming stronger individuals when we rely on God’s love to get us through. For He is always with us guiding us, protecting us, and at times like this, even carrying us!

“More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”    ~ Romans 5:3-5

Close your eyes, take a deep breath and reach out for His hand. Imagine His embrace. Feel His strength embrace you while you take another deep breath and open your eyes slowly. You will feel His peace as your shoulders drop and know you are loved! Practice this as much as you need and the fog will lift. The steps ahead will seem easier to take. Just keep your feet on the tracks that God has placed in front of you! He is giving you strength, endurance, character, hope, and eventually to a place of peace knowing that His Will is the best for everyone!

Look back at the struggles you have already lived through in your lifetime. He was there with you then. You survived, and you will this time as well!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”    ~ Jeremiah 29:11

Driving With Jesus In Faith

“Signs of a Life” – Part VI

Driving FaithWhen times get tough and I need to clear my head, I love to jump in the car and just drive. I play my spiritual playlist pretty loudly, and have been known to bang on the steering wheel a lot! I’m always looking for signs from God while I’m driving too. Heart shaped clouds and crosses show up pretty often. Even when they don’t though, God is with me always.

I remember not too long ago making one of the toughest decisions of my life. I wasn’t quite to a place of peace with this decision, and I think that is why it was so difficult. I had planned to take the road that many of us married couples take when things aren’t working out and decide to walk away. I had been at this point in my mind before many times, but never acted on it because of how badly I wanted it to work out. I didn’t believe my husband would make the change that he needed to make for his health and our marriage, but he did give it a try so I felt I owed it to both of us to give it yet one more try. Yet, I had heard before that this time would be different. I was so torn apart. Driving down the road talking with God and doubting this decision and trying to hear God’s voice telling me what to do. I wasn’t hearing anything, so I decided I was going to end it once and for all.

It was at that point that God’s voice spoke up! He told me to give it one more try. He also told me how to present this opportunity in conversation. God gave me the words to say. God gave me the strength to speak His Words. God gave me Hope. God gave us a second chance. God gave us a second chance.

Unfortunately, despite the desire and the attempt, it didn’t last two weeks. This confused me even more. After all, if this was God’s plan and He spoke the words to me to give it one more try. Why then did it not work out? I’m sure many of you run into situations like this yourself. Those unanswered prayers. Why God? Why did you have me take this road if you knew it wasn’t going to work?

Many people give up on God at times like this. I was able to look for the good. There is always good in everything that God has planned. Yes, sometimes, even the unanswered prayers are God’s greatest gift. I love that song by Garth Brooks! In my situation, God gave us the opportunity to realize that no matter how hard we try, somethings we can not change or are willing to change. God gave us the ability to know in our hearts that we gave it our all. Had we not taken that one last chance to make it right, we would have wondered what would have happened if we had tried.

God gave us Peace!

Then the struggle became real and God was there too giving us both strength to get through the storm that tore us apart. Behind every cloud though, there are blue skies. In life we will always have tough decisions we have to make. I urge you to turn to God always in Faith that He will make the path clear. Ask for His guidance and His Will to be done! Listen for that small soft voice in your head and follow His lead! With God you can’t go wrong!

Learn To Recognize Your Triggers

“Signs of a Life” – Part IV

Saving GraceAs you can imagine, hearing the nurse call for the paddles and being in the hospital for 10 nights was pretty traumatic. I wasn’t home for long before my doctor recommended I find someone to talk with to help me sort through my stress and anxiety. The first thing she wanted me to come to terms with was recognizing my trigger points. I didn’t know what a trigger point was until much later, but once I learned the meaning behind it, I quickly knew what my trigger was. The way it was explained to me is that it is the first feeling you have of anxiety.  For example, you are sitting quietly in the living room reading a book and someone in the kitchen drops a frying pan or shatters a glass. It’s that feeling right then and there that you feel. What is it for you? Where do you feel it? Do you feel a tightness in your chest? Or is it a sinking feeling in your stomach. How do you react? What do you do?  Think about it for a second and the next time that happens pay close attention and you will learn with your trigger is.

For me, I feel a tightness in my chest and when I am really stressed I then find myself rubbing my hand over my chest to help calm myself. I do this sometimes without even realizing it. When I do, I do eventual realize I am now able to recognize this as my trigger and a sign of anxiety that I need to deal with immediately.  I then just start breathing deeply and talk to myself and God to get reassurance from Him that everything will be okay. Positive words and prayers of affirmation is the first thing I do. I close my eyes and quiet the room and try to feel the presence of God’s embrace. God has told me repeatedly to ‘Be Still’. I’ve taken this to simply mean, to Be Still in his presence, to stop striving for my will, and start embracing His Will and plan for my life. For Only God knows our next move and what is best for us! He wants us to live an abundant life.

“Be still and know that I am God,”  ~ Psalm 46:10

As time has gone by, this practice is all I really need to follow in order to calm myself and quiet my anxieties, but there was a time when this was not enough.  There are other ways to handle our stress and I’ll be sharing next several ways I learned to deal with mine and hope that it will help you!

Be Still

Do You Know Who Your Guardian Angels Are?

“Signs of a Life” – Part III

2019_04_08_2019_03_29_Narrative Project_1932__DSC0225During my recovery in the hospital, I also learned that God is not the only one watching over me from above. When I was in and out of sleep after my heart attack, I went into a dream state where I saw three individuals sitting on a bench much like this one. Except, the bench was just above my bed sitting in the clouds and I could see many silhouettes of people, whom I believed to be angels in the distance. I could see the sides of the first two gentleman closest to me as they were sitting there just waiting. I recognized right away the first man was my father. He looked exactly like he did back in the 70’s with his long sideburns, yet he could not look down at me. The second man, a bit taller than my dad, was my stepfather. He was looking over my dad and down on me with such a loving, yet concerned, look. The third man, I could not see, but somehow I just knew in my heart it was my grandfather. That surprised me more than anything, because for so long I thought my grandmother was one of my guardian angels. Oh, I’m sure she’s still looking down and watching, but this would be the second time now that my grandfather has come to me in a dream just like this and the only time I have dreamed about him since his death.

There is something to be said about the power of three and this holds true for me as well. Three has always been my lucky number and a number I gravitate to. I love to give three kisses good night or goodbye – one is never enough!  One night when I was so stressed out, I felt the presence of someone sitting on my bed behind me three times. It was as if one person sat down and got up, and then another, and then yet another. I swore someone was there; but every time I looked, there was no one. I was awake and it kinda freaked me out a little. Eventually, I just brushed it aside and thought it must be my grandmother checking in on me. After this dream in the hospital though, I now know it was my three guardian angels blessing me and letting me know everything was going to be alright.

Do you know who your guardian angels are? How do they show up to you? Some leave dimes, some show up as butterflies, feathers, hearts. Our loved ones find many ways to show us they are still among us and with us. Never fear for they are still very near! This dream I had in the hospital, it was very real and I no longer have fear of dying. I know my loved ones will be with me one day and we will all meet on the other side – the never ending journey with God!

A Place to Belong!

Have you ever felt that you truly belonged somewhere? That it was meant to be! Have you ever met someone that you felt so connected to that you knew without a shadow of a doubt God set up that chance meeting?

Well, I have been feeling this way for a while now having met so many amazing friends through Young Living, but this picture speaks a thousand words to me! If you zoom in on it, you will recognize it is ‘so me’! A woman that just wants to be happy, have fun, and follow God’s path for the rest of her life!

Lifepoint

God led me to the woman on the other side of this camera and she made me feel so proud when she said she chose me to be her subject for narrative project she was working on in her photojournalism class! Her instructor said she had to choose someone she didn’t really know, but wanted to get to know. Wow! I was blown away, but she, like alot of you wanted to hear my story! Sharing my story and helping others is all I dream of.

I can honestly say ‘my story’ and transformation started at Lifepoint Church. From the day me and my best friend walked in the doors of this church we both felt at home and truy still feel like we belong here! I know God has big plans for me and this Church will play a role in it and I can’t wait to live out the rest of the story!

Thank you Heidi Marie Bell for your interest in me, and for the friendship we have created. Big things are in store for us!! God did not bring us together just for this project. He has a reason and a plan and together we are going places!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” ~ Jeremiah 29:11

Turn Your HAVE to Into I GET To!

Instead of dreading the things you have to do, start thinking of all the things you get to do! This morning we got to get up an hour early to start our day and start sharing the love of God. We get to start following His lead on this new day He blessed us with. We get to decide on whether to reflect our attitudes positively or negatively. We get to share random acts of kindness. We get to inspire others by sharing our stories. We get to help bring people closer to God Grace. We get to change our reactions to situations that bring us down. We get to change our mindsets to always look for the positive in all circumstances.  We get to live the life God created for us. We get to be the person God created us to be. Become that person and you will be amazed at how much more God blesses you with and you too can live a life of abundance which God has waiting for you!

Turn Your Have To Into I GET TO

Looking Back

Several people have been doing the picture challenge, and as I was looking back at some pictures, I realized something. Do you ever look back at a picture and remember exactly how you were feeling at the time? Sometimes smiles on the outside really don’t match the reality of what was going on inside.

1

I was a little overwhelmed with emotions while I was looking back at this first picture taken 11 days after my heart attack in April 2016. How tired, weak, scared, and anxious I was still feeling knowing that I was on the mend. I thought I was stressed before the heart attack, but afterwards was much worse! I suffered with separation anxiety at that point and every little twinge, extra heart beat, or rise in blood pressure only made it worse.

3Now, I look at the love in my mother’s eyes and the care and attention I received from her, my husband, children, family and friends and realize just how blessed I am! It was their love that got me through the worse days of my life! But, it was God who I owe all the Glory, because of His love for me, I was given a second chance. I look at the second picture from this Christmas and realize just how much He has changed me, and how much more he has given me. Change is difficult, but we all go through storms in our lives and its during those storms that we grow into the people God created us to be.

One of the biggest contributors to my growth besides God is the fact that when I was ready to get back to working again, He brought Young Living into my life. He restored my spirit, and gave me a strong desire to help other people learn about stress, anxiety, and depression. That was always my dream after my mom’s miracle back in 1980, but now He gave me my own story!

Young Living helped me deal with my own stress and anxiety issues. The first day I received my Premium Starter Kit, I began diffusing Lavendar, rolling Stress Away all over my wrists, behind my neck and ears, and rolling Frankincense up my spine for overall wellness (so powerful you need to research). I even started using the Lemon in my water to help with detoxing, and Thieves Vitality to help boost my immune system. Eventually, I started reaching out to others oils outside of the kit and truly fell in love with all of their products. Having gone through my recovery, I still always lean towards the ‘Feelings Kit’ because they support our emotions and spiritual grounding.

I’ve come a long way and I couldn’t be happier. I now know my trigger points, and what to do to cope with my stressors and I owe it all to God, Young Living, and the love of family and friends! You may have missed the Kit Sale, but I will always be here when you are ready to help yourself! Becoming a member of Young Living changed my life for only $160! And now, I have my own business, I’m healthier, happier, and removed all the toxins from my life. Not to mention, I have so many new amazing friends and a growing community!

So reach out when you are ready to join me on this journey and amazing community with tons of education and support!

Live in the Present Moment

We all want things we can’t have. It’s normal to daydream and wish our lives away, but when we concentrate on the things we don’t have, we waste our time, energy, and spirit. Think about it, when it’s cold, we wish it were warmer. When it’s hot out, we wish it were Fall. It’s how our mind works. It’s like we are never satisfied. What we need to do is train our minds to be grateful for where we are in the present moment. Otherwise, we will always want more and not be happy with all the beautiful things we do have.

Instead, thank God for the gifts He has given us each day and trust that even more good things are on their way! God gave us the Holy Spirit who is with us always. Ask Him to control your thoughts with thanks and praise and you will learn to be happy always and find the positive in everything.

“Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.” ~ Romans 8: 5-6

present time1

When you find yourself complaining or wishing your life away, instead turn to God and ask him to help you find Grace with where you are; with what you are dealing with; and trust that He is. Be grateful for the blessings He has given you and believe that so much more is coming your way. This will give you something to look forward to, be positive about, and all of a sudden the Spirit comes alive in you and you have peace!

Live in the Present Time!
