Warm laundry straight from the dryer smells so fresh and clean, but could it be cancerous? That might sound extreme, but if you’re buying your laundry detergent and softeners from the store, there is a good chance they contain carcinogens. On average, laundry detergent products emit 17 toxins that go unlisted on labels, potentially causing problems such as skin irritation, neurological damage, and cancer!

Here are some tips to make your laundry room, and the clothes you wear everyday, much safer!

1.USE THIEVES LAUNDRY SOAP: This little bottle of miracle soap will change your laundry life! It gets your clothes so clean, smells light and fresh, and lasts a LONG time!

2.SKIP THE FABRIC SOFTENER: Did you know that fabric softeners are one of THE most toxic things in your home? Ditch it! A half-cup of vinegar added during the rinse cycle will produce the same results without the toxic chemicals. Wool dryer balls are also a popular alternative! The kitchen is the heart of every home. Switching to a “green” kitchen is not only good for our wallets and the environment; it’s good for our bodies as well! Everything we touch, inhale, eat, and drink has a direct impact on our health, so converting the busiest room in your home is a must. Making over your bathroom should be high on your priority list. Everyone here uses at least some of these products every day, often multiple times a day. Most people expose themselves to hundreds of dangerous chemicals before they even leave the house in the morning. A huge selection of personal care products from Young Living makes ditching the bathroom junk an easy transition! Some of the many oil-infused Young Living products to consider switching to include:

I start my day out every morning with so many of these products!

I love the Lavender Volume Shampoo and the Lavender Mint conditioner.

I don’t feel clean unless I’ve lathered up with the Base Bath & Shower Gel! The Base lets you add whatever essential oils you want your body to soak up!  For me, it is always Abundance, Orange, and Believe!!!  OMG I can’t say enough about this blend and the way this Base Gel lathers!

I also use the Orange Blossom Face Wash and every other day I exfoliate with the Mint Facial Scrub – this is so invigorating and truly transforms my skins radiance!

“Fragrance” could be one of the most dangerous words in the English language when it’s found in an ingredient list. The word “fragrance” or “parfum” may actually refer to a blend of many undisclosed ingredients all bundled up under the umbrella of one word. In order to protect trade secrets, fragrance gets a free pass from full disclosure. This outdated regulation, designed to conceal ingredients from the eyes of corporate competitors, now does the same for consumers who are inclined to scan labels for harmful ingredients. In 2015, the International Fragrance Association released a master list of more than 3,999 chemicals used by most manufacturers. The list includes carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, reproductive toxicants and numerous allergens (to name a few). A fragrance can be made up of any combination of these harmful chemicals that are absorbed rapidly when inhaled or when they come in contact with our skin.

Trashing your favorite scented products (lotions, scented candles and wax melts, air fresheners, shampoo, etc.) may be a sacrifice at first, but you won’t regret tossing these things. This transition is simple with essential oils! Of course essential oils are much more than just scents, but fortunately, so many of them smell awesome! Get rid of those scented toxins and start experimenting with your diffuser! The aroma combinations are endless, and it’s encouraging to know that these scents are not only safe; they actually benefit your body as you inhale them!

I didn’t have Faith, but had Frankincense and Hinoki!  Use your App and see what are in the blends, maybe you can make your own favorites too!
